Colonial leader and lawmaker Roger Ludlow purchased the land that would become Norwalk on
February 26, 1640, and Norwalk, Connecticut was officially founded on September 11, 1651. The city, like most, has
experienced a variety of ups and downs, some of which are chronicled in this
concise history of major events as compiled by a
third grade class at Tracey Elementary School.
