The City of Norwalk is home to 12 elementary schools (5,500 students), 4 middle schools (2,500), 3 high
schools (3,000), and the Norwalk Community College (about 5,000 students). The district employs approximately 1400
teachers, guidance counselors, librarians, social workers, psychologists, speech therapists,
teacher aides (mostly in special education) and other support staff.

The Norwalk Public Library provides free live help from online tutors for Norwalk students in grades 4-12. Subjects includes Math, Science, Social Studies and English. Click here to access this service.
An independent organization, the Norwalk Education
Foundation, serves as an advocacy group for our public education system, and is particularly focused on
improving the use of technology in the classroom.
The Norwalk Mentor Program
matches deserving students with positive adult role models to make a significant difference in the lives of
